The Australian Screen Production Education and Research Association (ASPERA) 2018 annual Conference was held at the VCA, University of Melbourne, Australia, between 27 and 29 June 2018.

This year’s conference theme was Screen Interventions. We were interested in the ways that screen production could be used to ‘intervene’ in wider cultural, social and political ideas and debates; how interventions might be made with, by and/or for the screen; and what interventions have taken place in screen production education and research.

The call for papers is now closed but you can see the details here.

The submission deadline for papers has now passed…

  • For those submitting work for double-blind peer review, full draft papers of 4000-5000 words must be submitted by Monday 30 April 2018.
  • Feedback on papers submitted for double-blind peer review will be made available in advance of the conference so that authors have the opportunity to incorporate suggested changes in their presentation, and then updated drafts by the end of the year. The special issue will be published in early 2019.
