2011 Conference in Perth
ASPERA Annual Conference and AGM
DATE: Monday 4 July (Evening session only) – Thursday 7
July
TITLE: Future Shocks and Wiki-Docs –What Next for Documentary?
This year’s ASPERA conference and AGM will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the 5th, 6th and 7th of July, with an evening welcoming event planned for Monday 4th. This is a slight departure from the usual practice of running the conference from Tuesday to Friday, and this is mainly because of the ATOM conference scheduled to commence in Melbourne on Saturday. We felt that it would be best to allow a day between conferences as there is a strong likelihood that many ASPERA delegates and members would have a significant interest in the ATOM conference as well as our own, and the day between would allow you to travel from Perth to Melbourne o participate in both.
The title of this year’s conference is Future Shocks and Wiki-Docs- What Next for Documentary?, and will be encouraging papers and discussion on the impact of new media platforms
and the reality-fiction crossover on the way we approach the teaching, research and production of documentary and actuality materials.
