On Friday 19 June 2020 we will run a series of 1 hour Zoom sessions in place of the, now postponed, 3-day face-to-face conference. The sessions will focus on areas of key interest to the ASPERA community, notably teaching media production within the context of COVID-19, supervising higher degree research students and ways that the Association can support screen production academics and the discipline. There will be opportunities to contribute to plans for the Association’s response in these areas and provide feedback to the Executive committee about priorities.
The program will run as follows:
9.30am – Teaching Media Production with Isolation
A discussion, with case studies, of different approaches to adjusting teaching practice in the current environment. Hosted by Dr Susan Kerrigan and Dr Simon Weaving.
11:00am – ASPERA Town Hall
A chance to share your views how ASPERA works and what the organisation could be focusing on for the next few years. Hosted by Dr Bettina Frankham and the ASPERA Executive Committee.
2:00pm – Developing Excellent Research Supervision
A discussion about best practice in supervising post-graduate researchers. Hosted by Professor Craig Batty & Professor Allyson Holbrook. Register now
3.30pm – Latest Research Update
Members of the ASPERA Research Sub-Committee will discuss the progress of projects, outcomes and outputs that have occurred over the past year, including edited books and journal special issues. Hosted by Dr Kath Dooley and Sub-committee members.
All meeting details will be sent to registrants prior to the sessions.
