WIL is one of the most dynamic areas of screen education. Educational institutions develop placement frameworks, navigate industry partnership governance, and grapple with what authentic WIL actually looks like for contemporary screen industries and screen students. In this symposium, we led an honest, collegial exchange that explored perspective, innovative practice, and experiences that include the ‘dos and don’ts’ of industry placement.

Symposium presenters covered topics such as student equity, authentic placement, curriculum design, and student autonomy and rights in the workplace. The ASPERA Teaching and Learning Committee was pleased to welcome industry guests from Fin VFX.
