This is the audio and slides from the Screen Production Research Engagement and Impact Symposium keynote address by Distinguished Professor Jen Webb, Director of the Centre for Creative & Cultural Research at the University of Canberra, Australia.

In this presentation Jen explores the context, principles and practices of the national impact and engagement assessment following the release of results from the pilot engagement and impact assessment of research in Australian universities, with a particular focus on how it might manifest for creative practice researchers. With aims to “examine how universities are translating their research into economic, social and other benefits and encourage greater collaboration between universities, industries and other end-users of research” (http://www.arc.gov.au/engagement-and-impact-assessment) the first Engagement and Impact assessment launches in 2018.
